The Original 1227 desk lamp by Anglepoise embodies typical British industrial design. The desk lamp that was selected by a panel of British industrial designers as their favourite light of all times in 1992 impresses by a plain and elegant look with a tasteful surface finish. The Anglepoise Original 1227 desk lamp designed by George Carwardine in 1935 is made of high-quality materials. The shade and the arms are made of fine aluminium, while the base is made of cast iron coated with steel.

Original 1227 desk lamp – versatile, adaptable lighting

The Anglepoise Original 1227 desk lamp not only sets standards in terms of the visual appearance. The elegant designer light also serves as a role model for future generations of table lamps in terms of functionality. The light arms as well as the light head may be individually adjusted to suit the personal requirements of the user. This way, the zone lighting may be adapted at all times. A spring balancing technology that was revolutionary back then makes sure that the light securely and reliably remains in the selected position.

For the operation of the Original 1227 desk lamp, it is recommended to use energy-efficient lamps. The LED retrofit lamps recommended by light11 only require 5 watts to achieve a luminous flux of 250 lumens.
