The Melampo Notte which was designed by Adrien Gardère in 2002 for the Italian premium manufacturer Artemide is a strikingly elegant table lamp. Particularly its lampshade made of silk satin gives it a noble look. The Artemide Melampo Notte table lamp is available in the unobtrusive colour versions aluminium grey, bronze and black. The designer light made of lacquered aluminium received the German Red Dot Design Award and the French Observeur du Design. Its creator Adrien Gardère stands for a design language that is characterised by simplicity, clarity and usefulness – without making use of any frills.

Melampo Notte – adjustable lampshade

The Artemide Melampo Notte table lamp surprises with an intelligent property. Instead of a fixed shade, this luminaire is provided with an adjustable shade. You can choose between two positions so that the light is always directed to where it is required. In its basic position, the lampshade is horizontally aligned and emits its soft zone lighting downwards, while a small portion of light escapes upwards. In the second position, the shade is tilted by 30° so that a light cone is created which is diagonally directed downwards. A handle used for adjusting the shade offers protection from wear that might otherwise occur on the lampshade. It is recommended to equip this luminaire with a halogen lamp that ensures an excellent colour rendering.
