The Catellani & Smith Uomo Della Luce is more than a light fixture, it is an object of art. The floor lamp consist of a human silhouette, made of waxed crude iron, holding a ball of filigree aluminium wire which is rolled up by hand. Thus, the floor lamp thematises the essential connection between man and light. Several small lamps are unobtrusively integrated into the wire mesh, which turns the floor lamp by the Italian light manufacturer Catellani & Smith into an atmospheric source of light as well as a decorative living accessory.

Uomo della Luce: dimmable mood light with an artistic character

When switched on, Catellani & Smith Uomo della Luce casts stunning shadows on the wall, creating atmospheric lighting. Depending on the size of the floor lamp, it is fitted with up to eight lamps. These are placed on the inside of the metal wire so that they project an amorphous pattern onto the wall. The transformer required for the operation of the Uomo della Luce is located on the supply line together with the integrated dimmer. This allows the light quantity of the floor lamp from Catellani & Smith to be adjusted to personal requirements.

The Catellani & Smith Uomo della Luce particularly unfolds its splendour in the living room. Especially in the evening, the floor lamp reveals its eye-catching presence when it is switched on and paints an enchanting shadow pattern on the walls. In the dining room as well, the Uomo della Luce is perfectly suited as source of atmospheric lighting, which gives joint dinners that certain something. Emitting wonderfully relaxing light, the floor lamp from Catellani & Smith also comes into its own in the bedroom.
