The DCWéditions Lampe Gras No 317 successfully combines function and style. The table lamp, which dates back to 1921, is a real classic of light design and stands out for its extraordinary functionality and unique design. With the Lampe Gras No 317, the designer Bernard-Albin Gras created a table lamp made of cast iron, that was originally intended to be solely used as a desk lamp. As a result, the appearance is rather industrial and plain. Based on traditional desk lamps, the Lampe Gras No 317 is entirely made by hand. It has no screwed joints or soldering joints, however, that does not impede its functionality at all. This minimalist ingenuity even impressed the great Le Corbusier, who was one of the most prominent admirers of the Lampe Gras. In 2005, the design classic was honoured by an inclusion in the design collection exhibited at the Centre Pompidou in Paris.

Lampe Gras No 317 table lamp: flexibility at its finest

The DCWéditions Lampe Gras No 317 offers far more than a trendy industrial look. Thanks to multiple hinges, the table lamp stands out for its extraordinary flexibility, which already starts at the shaft that can be rotated by 310°. Furthermore, the long lamp arm can be by another 310° around the vertical axis and 120° around the horizontal axis. Next, the short lamp arm which holds the lamp head can be tilted by 250° and the head itself by 210°. What is more, you can double the reach of the DCWéditions Lampe Gras No 317 by extending the lamp arm. More flexibility is hardly possible!
