DesignThe joint mechanism is what made the Lampe Gras work lamps, designed by engineer Bernard-Albin Gras in the 1920s, world famous. DCWéditions, the specialist for new editions of former design icons, now presents the Les Acrobates de Gras series of pendant lights, which does not use flexible joints, but adopts the characteristic lampshade. A special variant is the DCWéditions Les Acrobates de Gras No 322 Glass Ball pendant light: this "acrobat" comes with an opal, spherical shade of glass and thus occupies an exceptional position in material and aesthetic terms – an unusual interpretation of the Lampe Gras, which otherwise presents itself in metal and round or conical form. The Les Acrobates de Gras No 322 Glass Ball is suspended from fabric cables to form a pendant light; the canopy is made of cast steel.
