Design

The fabric diffuser of the Ariette from Flos stretches across the ceiling like a tent. It consists of an innovative textile made of glass fibre reinforced polyamide that is kept together by means of a rod assembly without using any bolts. This is how the square and slightly curved shape of the ceiling light, which can also be used as a wall light, is created. Flos Ariette was already designed in 1973 by the Italian designer legend Tobia Scarpa. This ceiling lamp is a good example of the company’s standards with regard to presenting high-quality lights with an extraordinary look. Ariette is available in three sizes: 80 x 80, 100 x 100 and 130 x 130 cm.

As soon as the Ariette is switched on, its red frame becomes visible through the shade. This gives it a timeless elegance.

Ariette ceiling lights for soft ambient lighting

The double charisma of the Flos Ariette is based on its extraordinary construction. Once it is mounted, the ceiling light reveals its two faces. While it is switched off, its large surfaces look unobtrusively elegant and the cream fabric excellently harmonises with many wall and ceiling paints. As soon as the Ariette from Flos is switched on it fully presents its personality: the red bars are slightly visible through the fabric and thereby create a magnificent contrast. Here, the ceiling lamp supplies soft, diffuse light and this way creates an exciting and pleasant ambient lighting. This ceiling light is operated by means of four light bulbs. It is recommended to use E27 halogen light bulbs with a power of up to 40 watts. However, those who want to save money also may use efficient LED retrofits instead.

Particularly in the bedroom, the Flos Ariette turns out to be a charming enrichment to the ambience. The ceiling light diffuses soft ambient lighting that is uniformly distributed within the room. This way, a gorgeous atmosphere is created that invites you to sit back and relax. However, the successful combination of lighting effect and sophisticated design of the Ariette from the Italian light manufacturer Flos also cuts a great figure in a hallway when the structures of the synthetic fibre become clearly visible. Thus, the ceiling lamp turns into a tasteful eye-catcher.
