Design

The round two metres tall Flos Superloon is reminiscent of a precious standing mirror. The exquisite floor lamp designed by the British designer Jasper Morrison impresses with its filigree appearance as well as a convenient functionality. The "lamp head" consists of a circular aluminium frame which holds a diffuser made of PMMA with a diameter of 70 cm. Furthermore, the frame houses particularly efficient LED modules. However, contrary to a mirror, the diffuser of the floor lamp by the Italian light manufacturer Flos does not reflect light, but spreads it harmoniously into the room. The frame is held by a special bracket that allows the luminous disc to rotate by 360°. This, in turn, is placed on a robust tripod.

Superloon floor lamps: user-friendly functionality

The Flos Superloon directs its light wherever you like. The diffuser can be rotated by 360° around its own axis. Thanks to this, the floor lamp may either supply indirect or direct lighting, depending on the position of its head. At times, it serves as a reading lamp, at other times, it provides indirect, soft ambient lighting. In addition, the Superloon is supplied with an integrated dimmer that allows you to adjust the brightness, changing the light temperature as it dims. Thus, the floor lamp by Flos supplies light between a range of 2,200 to 2,800 Kelvins. The Superloon also impresses in terms of energy efficiency with a consumption of only 45 watts for a powerful luminous flux of 4,000 lumens. This exceeds the light output of a 200 W incandescent lamp by far.
