Design

A good example for the power of inspiration is the Flos Tatou F. The Spanish designer Patricia Urquiola was very much impressed by the look of Spanish samurai armour so that she decided to design the floor lamp based on its look. Moreover, the dome-shaped, comb-like shade of the Tatou F reminds us of the protective armour of an armadillo, in French "Tatou". Below the first shade of the floor lamp by the Italian light manufacturer Flos, a further satin-finished plastic diffuser is located, which uniformly diffuses the light emitted. This structure rests on a frame and a base made of lacquered steel, which is available in different colours.

Tatou F floor lamps: charming ambient lighting

The Flos Tatou F supplies excellently glare-free ambient lighting in all directions. This way, the floor lamp ensures a pleasant atmosphere in its surrounding area. In order to highlight this, light11 recommends using a halogen lamp for the Tatou F. These lamps are known for their brilliant colour rendering and warm white light. In this way, the play of light and shadow created by the floor lamp from Flos is excellently displayed.

Floor lamps for a cosy atmosphere in the evening

The special shade characterises the lighting effect of the Flos Tatou F. The openings in the shade made of polycarbonate produce an ambient lighting that suffuses a living room or a dining room with a pleasant ambience. Consequently, the Tatou F creates an atmosphere that invites you to sit back and relax. However, the excellently glare-free light of the floor lamp by Flos also cuts a fine figure in the bedroom. Its soft light is particularly appealing before you go to bed.
