Fontana Arte Bilia – an improbable design

The fascination which the Fontana Arte Bilia holds for many is based on the supposedly incompatibility of its geometrical shapes. The table lamp, designed by Gio Ponti in 1932, combines a sphere made from hand-blown glass with a nickel-plated brushed metal cone, with the sphere sitting on the tip of the cone – a truly improbable composition. This turns the Bilia table lamp by Fontana Arte into an exceptional eye-catcher.

As such, the table lamp is suitable for many areas of application. On a side table in the living room, for instance, the Bilia creates an atmospheric island of light. A sideboard or chest of drawers, such as in a bedroom, equally benefit from the pleasant light and unusual aesthetics of this designer light. The Fontana Arte Bilia is fitted with an E14 socket, which can be equipped with an illuminant of your choice, halogen lamps as well as LED lamps may be used.
