DesignThe Foscarini Havana Terra particularly fascinates with its unique design that is reminiscent of the shape of a cigar. Thus, this floor lamp quickly becomes the centre of attention despite its reduced look. The main characteristic feature of this designer light is its cigar-shaped diffuser which also forms the basis for its name. The slim, elegant lampshade of the Havana Terra from Foscarini is made of extremely resistant polyethylene; its individual elements are interconnected by means of several metal rings.
The Foscarini Havana Terra was designed by Jozeph Forakis in 1993 and was chosen to be a part of the permanent design exhibition of the Museum of Modern Art in New York. The works of the American designer were already exhibited in numerous galleries and museums around the world, including the historic exhibition "Mutant Materials In Contemporary Design" and the "Workspheres" exhibition of the MoMA.
