With its minimalist design and soft lines, the Le Klint Lamella 1 is exemplary in terms of timeless design. The pendant light is dominated by an organic shape, which comes to no surprise as its creators, the designer duo Takagi & Homstvedt, were inspired by the lamella on the underside of a mushroom cap. The designers achieved this pleated fabric look, which is typical of the Danish brand Le Klint, by using the so-called PLICA technique. This old and sophisticated production technique allows for a precise shaping of synthetic materials. The version shown here is the Lamella 1, which has a rather bulbous lamp body. The Lamella 2, which is also available at the light11 shop, is characterised by a rather slim, oblong body.
The Le Klint Lamella 1 emits particularly soft, diffused ambient light. For this, the pendant light is often installed in the dining room and living room. There, the pendant lamp may either function solely as room light or, if suspended above a dining table or coffee table, as both room light and source of accentuating light that suffuses the table surface with pleasant light.
