For a long time, it has been quiet around the DOO-WOP by Louis Poulsen, a classic of the early 1950s. The Danish manufacturer surprisingly took the characteristic pendant light with its interesting shape out of their portfolio in the 80s, only to bring it back as a re-edition in 2012 after numerous persistent customer requests. Meanwhile, the Louis Poulsen DOO-WOP is available in many different tasteful surface finishes, thanks to which the timeless pendant light fits into various interior styles. The visual appeal of the DOO-WOP is accompanied by a high quality of materials. The light fixture by Louis Poulsen is made of powder-coated drawn aluminium with connecting rods manufactured from steel.

DOO-WOP pendant lights: outstanding glare control

Thanks to their refreshing and extraordinary look, the DOO-WOP pendant lights unfold a charming effect on the viewer even before they are switched on. However, this pendant light achieves full effect as soon as it is switched on. Then the refined construction of the Louis Poulsen DOO-WOP comes into its own: while the outer shade ensures a softly diffused illumination in all directions, the inner reflector emits direct light downwards. Thus, atmospheric room light as well as focused zone light are guaranteed. The location of the lamp inside the light fixture turns out to be particularly advantageous as this ensures that pleasant, glare-free light is emitted. light11 recommends equipping the DOO-WOP pendant light with halogen lamps, as they are known for their brilliant colour rendering.
