DesignThe Compendium Terra by Luceplan quickly attracts attention with its slim silhouette – after all, poetry and function seem to unite in this floor lamp. The tall, almost sculptural Luceplan Compendium floor lamp is a paragon of filigree elegance: a profile of extruded, anodised aluminium protrudes almost 2 m from a conical base, and is connected to an even thinner folded profile.
The Compendium Terra floor lamp is a creation by Daniel Rybakken from 2014. The Norwegian, who was born in 1984, is considered a master of light illusion, whose sensational installations literally provide "bright moments". After experimenting with light as a child in his parental home and creating the illusion of light coming in from outside through a curtain in one room, in 2007 he designed a project called "Daylight Comes Sideways". An LED panel that creates daylight-like lighting through moving shadow images. This gives the viewer the impression of looking into a window from which movements can be seen.
