Design

The Nemo Ellisse double is a pendant light that skilfully plays with the geometrical shape of the ellipse. The "double" variant of this designer light consists of two elliptic rings, with the inner ring being slightly smaller than the outer ring. The filigree "duet" is suspended from the ceiling by means of ultra-thin, nearly invisible cords. Thereby, the Ellisse double seems to float weightlessly in the room. Furthermore, with a diameter of more than 1.30 meters, the pendant light by Nemo unfolds a truly impressive presence. The technology used for the construction of the Ellisse is specially developed and registered for patent by Nemo. The two ellipses are manufactured from wet painted aluminium and are available in different variants. The design was penned by Federico Palazzari, who is a trained lawyer and managing partner of Nemo.

Ellisse double: bi-directional light

The Nemo Ellisse double emits its light both upwards and downwards, with the upwards-directed light beam being slightly more powerful and diffuse than the downward beam. The LEDs inside the rings of the Ellisse double consume only little energy to produce an impressive luminous flux, reaching a luminous efficacy of more than 100 lumens per watt. By emitting its light upwards and downwards, the pendant light by Nemo provides the area below with zone light on the one hand, and creates harmonious ambient light by means of the upwards-directed light being reflected into the room by the ceiling. What is more, the light emitted by the Nemo Ellisse double is pleasantly warm white with a temperature of 3,000 Kelvins.

The Nemo Ellisse double is the ideal lighting solution for living rooms. There, it is often suspended above a coffee table, which it suffuses with cosy zone light.
