Design

The Northern Birdy wall light has made history. In 1954, the wall light was the first Norwegian luminaire to win a gold medal at the Milan Triennale. In this way, the functional Scandinavian design by Birger Dahl was able to prove itself on an international scale. Today, Northern presents a precious re-edition of the classic luminaire. The birdy still impresses by its user-friendliness and its charming design: the shade of the wall lamp is made of aluminium and the wall bracket is made of steel. Thereby, a high durability is ensured. Furthermore, the Birdy is available in two versions: with a short arm or a long arm.

Both versions of the Northern Birdy may be adjusted as needed. Additionally, the version with a longer arm may also be swivelled to the sides. In this way, the wall light offers the right light for every situation. light11 recommends using a halogen lamp of up to 60 watts for the Birdy. Thereby, the wall light by Northern provides brilliant and pleasant light. Of course, it may also be equipped with an LED retrofit lamp. Approximately seven to eight watts are recommended.

Birdy – wall lights as pleasant reading lights next to the bed or a couch

Both versions of the Northern Birdy are well-suited to be used as a bedside lamps. As you may adjust the light direction as desired, the wall lamp provides ideal conditions for reading a book in bed. The same applies when installing the Birdy next to or above an armchair or a couch in the living room. There, the wall light offers pleasant zone light, which may be directed to where it is needed. Furthermore, the wall lamp by Northern may also be used as a substitute for a desk lamp. By installing it above a desk, you save precious space on the table while profiting from bright, adjustable light.
