Design

Even when switched off, the Santa & Cole GT5 with white diffuser disc is a visual delight. It stands out for its timelessly beautiful hand-pleated fabric lampshade – the hallmark of this pendant light. With a diameter of 62 cm, the GT5 is in the mid-range of the GT family. The GT6 is slightly smaller (45 cm), the GT7 slightly larger (90 cm).

This pendant lamp was designed in 1994 by the in-house design crew of the manufacturer Santa & Cole. The glasses in the Spanish company logo symbolise the creative intelligence behind their lamps. These stand out above all – as can be impressively observed with the GT5 – through their shade. Santa & Cole and its designers attach great importance to creating a luminaire that is always rich in variations and matches the overall aspect of the respective luminaire. Clear lines and high-quality materials, discreet colours and the warm light colour characterise these luminous design objects of this brand.

GT5 with white diffuser disc – soft zone light and room light

The elegant appearance of the Santa & Cole GT5 is accompanied by a double light emission, as the pendant light emits its light evenly both downwards and upwards. It provides downward-facing zone light that effectively emphasises the underlying surface. Inside the softly glowing lampshade, there is an opal diffuser disc made of plastic. This elegantly covers the light source from below, preventing any unpleasant glare. The GT5 also shines upwards towards the ceiling, creating indirect, soft ambient light. light11 recommends equipping the pendant light with a halogen lamp. This type of lamp is appreciated for its warm white light colour and brilliant colour rendering. Alternatively, the E27 socket may also be fitted with an LED incandescent lamp. The pendant lamp is supplied with a matt nickel-plated canopy and a black cable.
